#51 – ‘Die Trying’ Discovery S3E05

Commander Burnham goes searching for seeds while Emperor Georgiou makes a new friend. Join your horticulturally-inclined hosts as they discuss the warm comforts of classic Trek-style storytelling, debate the chain of command, and consider the architectural drawbacks of programmable matter.

Spoiler warning! We dive right into a detail-rich discussion of this episode, so if you haven’t had a chance to see it yet – beware!

Next week: Book is back, and so are those ‘Running Man’-style exploding-head fences!

Note that this and all episodes of the It’s Got Star Trek podcast contain explicit language and, frankly, an unnecessary amount of offensive content, so the show is intended only for adults and really really cool kids.

The It’s Got Star Trek podcast has become quite the popular little chicken, so it’s time to tidy up our poorly-planned RSS feeds. If you already subscribe to the It’s Got Star Trek RSS feed you’ll be right as rain with no changes at all! However, if you relied on the “All Podcasts” feed (which combined both the It’s Got Star Trek and It’s Got Everything podcast feeds, then you’ll need to subscribe to the It’s Got Star Trek feed to continue getting that delicious, weekly Trek-talk.

The RSS feed that previously offered both podcasts (to the presumably small number of lunatics who enjoy both programs equally) has returned to solely hosting the (much less regular, significantly less coherent) It’s Got Everything podcast.

Both podcasts (as well as planned future additions to our fledgling collection of podcasts) will continue to appear on the It’s Got Everything Podcast Network home page.

While we’ve got your eyeballs, let us know what else you’d like to see on our website. We figure most folks are sensibly relying on their preferred podcast players/services to listen, but we would be happy to include additional content here. Use one of the many sexy links provided below to give us your feedback. Thanks for listening!

Programming Note: Beta Broadcasts

Good morning and good evening!  Patrick here, with an update on our progress.  You’ll note that we have employed a curious numbering format for our episodes – however this is only curious if you believe these to be the final product of our intense labors!  No, indeed these episodes are mere test broadcasts, artisanally crafted to test audio and technical settings, play around with different content and segment ideas, and generally give us practice jabbering on in an entertaining fashion.  Eventually, when we feel we’ve ironed out all the bits and pieces, we will, with great fanfare, produce and publish our very first episode!  That will be labeled with a proud “1” – or maybe “Episode 1”?  That remains to be worked out.  In any case, we do hope you enjoy the beta content released on this feed in the meantime.  We look forward to your comments and recommendations, which will be eagerly read and over-analyzed on future installments, especially if they are particularly negative or insane.
